Group Assigning

This was the day when we were divided into different groups for this manufacturing assignment.
Week 2
Task Introduction
October 06, 2015
On this day we were introduced and briefed by our tutor as to what is to be manufactured and when. We were also asked to research onto what punches are, for our own understanding.
Week 3
Selection of Punch and Creation of Blog
October 13, 2015
This was the week in which we researched, and compared different types of punches. Thus, after the research we decided to choose the Pin punch as our type.
We also started making our blog from thi day onwards.
Week 4
Design Finalisation
October 20, 2015
This was the week in which we started with the dimensioning of our punch design, based on the standard sizes available online. This was then approved by our tutor.
Week 5
3D Modelling
October 27, 2015
In this week, we did the 3D modelling with the final dimensions of our Punch design in SOLIDWORKS..
Week 6
SOLIDWORKS Orthographic Submission
November 03, 2015
On this day we made and submitted our final SOLIDWORKS orthographic design by printing it out. This was then sent to the industry by our tutor.
Week 7
Manufacturing Day
November 10, 2015
This was the day when we visited the industry with our final designs and the raw specimen and did the manufacturing.
Week 8
Research on Heat Treatment
November 18, 2015
In this week, we started researching on what heat treatment is, how is it performed, and what all heat treatments are required for our specimen.
Week 9
Heat Treatment and Testing
November 24, 2015
In this week we performed the Quenching and Tempering processes on our punches and then tested the punches on the next day.
Week 10
Presentation and Blog Completion
December 11, 2015
We finally completed our blog in this week and also gave the presentation on all the tasks that we performed through out the weeks.
